Makiko Deguchi ('88)

Ms. Makiko Deguchi was a member of the Class of 1988. Deguchi was born in Nara, Japan and later moved to New York with her family. She later moved to Montreal, then back to Japan in Hyogo prefecture. After coming back to the U.S. and attending junior high school and high school in Yonkers, New York, Deguchi came to Wellesley to pursue undergraduate studies. Deguchi is currently at Sophia University in Japan working as an associate professor in the Department of English Studies.
