Welcome to Wellesley College!

We are thrilled to have you on board. To help you navigate the onboarding process, we've created a guide specifically for you as a new hire. Please follow the New Hire Checklist to ensure everything is completed. 

 

After signing your offer letter: 

  • Look out for an email with directions on how to set up your MyWellesley account which you'll need to access the MyWellesley portal, Workday, and Gmail. 

  • Complete pre-hire materials through Workday by logging in through the MyWellesley portal

  • Meet with Human Resource to complete direct deposit form and form I-9. Please bring the necessary documentation on your first day of Employment.

Your First Days:

During Your First Month:

  • Log into Workday and update your employee information. Ensure that your contact information, including work location and office phone extension, are complete.

  • Attend your scheduled Welcome and Benefits Orientation. If you're unsure of your scheduled date, please email Cristina DeGaetano at cristina.degaetano@wellesley.edu.

During Orientation:

  • Take the opportunity to connect with other new employees.

  • Explore the various opportunities and resources available to college employees.

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of your benefits during the benefits portion of orientation.

  • Sign up for your benefits through Workday.

During the First Three Months:

  • Review your role documentation and job responsibilities.

  • Discuss performance expectations with your supervisor.

  • Gain an understanding of divisional, departmental, and individual goals.

  • Identify short-term goals for your initial months of employment.

  • Build relationships with colleagues within your office and across other departments.

  • Review training and development resources with your supervisor.

Things to Review And Consider

  • Review details about employment policies, procedures and benefits for administrative employees in the Administrative Handbook.

  • Review details about benefits, resources available to faculty, and other employment-related policies in the Faculty Handbook

  • Review fire safety instructions
