Donations via a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a type of giving program that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to easily support your favorite charities. An increasingly popular charitable vehicle, DAFs are an excellent way to both simplify your charitable giving and facilitate your strategic philanthropic goals. WSAS now offers an easy way to give from a participating DAF:
Donations via Personal Check
To make a donation using a personal check, download the WSAS Donation Form, fill the form out by hand, and mail it along with your check made payable to the Wellesley Students’ Aid Society:

Matching Gifts
Many employers will match charitable contributions made by their employees. Some companies even match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses. Please consult your employer directly to see if they offer a matching gift program.
Types of Gifts
All contributions to the Wellesley Students’ Aid Society, Inc. are tax deductible. Because Students’ Aid is an independent corporation, gifts to the Society are separate from gifts to Wellesley College and do not count for class credit. However, a gift to the Society counts towards the College's overall participation rate, which may boost the College's eligibility for grant and other funding.
Unrestricted Gifts
Unrestricted gifts made to the Society allow us to apply funds where they are needed most. A gift of $500 or more will enroll you as a Guardian Angel ($250 or more for classes 2018 through 2022).
Memorial or In Honor Gifts
A minimum donation of $25 is required to make a gift in memory of or in honor of an individual.
Gifts to Named Funds
The named funds at the Society fall into two categories - Restricted and Unrestricted - and within these two categories there are three types of Funds: Gift, Scholarship and Loan.
Restricted vs. Unrestricted - Our restricted funds have been set up by the donor with a restriction placed on them. For example, a donor may want the interest from the fund to be used to assist a student from the mid-west, or an international student, or to be used only for travel or books. The society then provides funds to students who demonstrate a financial need, following the rules stated by the restriction.
Our unrestricted funds are exactly that - unrestricted - and the interest from these funds is pooled and used for the Society's different funding programs: loan funds given to the college for tuition loans (from our Loan funds); scholarship funds given to the college for tuition scholarships (from our Scholarship funds); gift funds used for book vouchers, Amazon gift cards, or senior gifts (from our Gift funds).
Establish a Named Fund
A minimum donation of $100 is required to establish a named fund. Once the initial donation has been made, donations in any denomination may be added to the fund at any time.
