Funding requests submitted outside of the announced deadlines will also be considered.
Call for Proposals
We invite faculty and instructional staff to propose a project to innovate teaching and learning in their course, program, or department. Proposals may involve the design of a new course or program, redesign an existing course or program with new approaches, or development of specific resources or course components (e.g., assignments, assessments, learning experiences) to facilitate a particular learning goal or to overcome a teaching challenge. Faculty and instructional staff may also propose to design programs in their department, or across departments, to support student learning, to assist students with developing effective learning strategies or skills, or to reduce opportunity/achievement gaps between specific groups of students.
See the FAQ for additional project ideas.
Projects must:
- investigate an evidence-based teaching/learning approach, and
- include a plan to assess the impact of this approach on students’ learning and other relevant outcomes (e.g., engagement, reducing opportunity gaps, faculty perceptions).
Eligibility
All faculty and instructional staff with teaching/learning responsibilities in any discipline at Wellesley are eligible to apply. Joint applications are welcome.

Resources Related to Evidence-Based Pedagogy and Assessment of Student Learning
As part of this grant opportunity, Sarah Pociask provides support for faculty with funded projects. Sarah offers assistance with pedagogy (e.g., course design, assignment design, effective strategies to address particular challenges), connecting the teaching innovation to existing teaching and learning scholarship, and assessment design and implementation to explore the impact of the teaching innovation. Support will also be provided by LTS staff for projects that involve technology. A meeting with Sarah is strongly recommended before you submit your proposal to conceptualize the project and discuss project goals.
