Therefore, failing to secure your own computer not only puts your data at risk, but it also potentially risks the data of others on the network.
Following the procedures highlighted in this section will help you improve the security of your computer:
- Use strong passwords. See the Wellesley College Password Requirements.
- Run updates for your operating system
- Windows 10: Please be sure you are running at least update 1909. You can check your version of Windows 10 by searching "Windows Specifications" in the taskbar.
- Mac: We support macOS 10.12 - 11. Please update to the latest version of your operating system

- Code42 is installed by default on all College-owned computers. Check that your Code42 backup is active and up to date. If your computer is not actively backing up or Code42 is not installed, please contact the Computing Help Desk for assistance.
