On-Campus Resources

 

The Class Deans’ Office

The Class Deans act as a bridge between faculty advisors, staff members, and students in order to ensure that Wellesley students can plan and achieve their personal aspirations.

Health Services

Newton-Wellesley Collegiate Health provides Wellesley students with a wide variety of care.  To view this office’s hours and learn more about their offerings, please visit the Health Services website.

 

The Stone Center Counseling Service

Community Resources

Transportation

MBTA - The Ride

MBTA's paratransit program that provides transportation with lift equipped vans and sedans to serve people who cannot use general public transportation due to a disability. You must complete an application to use this program.

MBTA Lift Bus Program Call-A-Lift Service

Call 1.800.LIFTBUS or 800.543.8287 by 1:00 PM the day before you want to travel to schedule a wheelchair lift-equipped bus.

MWRTA - Catch Connect

MWRTA’s micro transit program has services in Wellesley and Framingham/Natick. Similar to an Uber, you can book trips when ready using the CATCH app or by calling 508.283.5083. Rides are provided on a first come, first serve basis. The service is currently free but when fares resume it will cost $2 per one-way trip.

 

Educational and Vocational Training

Association of Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD)

An international, multicultural organization of professionals committed to full participation in higher education for persons with disabilities. Offers numerous training programs, workshops, publications, and conferences.

Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC)

MRC provides vocational rehabilitation, job placement and training including higher education, and other services.

HEATH Resource Center

National clearinghouse on postsecondary education for individuals with disabilities.

 

Architectural Accessibility

ADA Accessibility Guidelines for Buildings and Facilities (ADAAG)

Outlines technical requirements for accessibility to buildings and facilities by individuals with disabilities under the American Disabilities Act (1990).

Massachusetts Architectural Access Board

The Access Board’s website contains architectural access codes. Their staff is available to provide technical assistance. Both State and federal code must be reviewed when considering access.

 

Disability Law

ADA Technical Center

Provides assistance regarding the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Disability Law Center (DLC)

Represents clients with disabilities who have been discriminated against because of their disability. Priority issues include discrimination in employment, housing, public accommodation, childcare facilities, and transportation.

Massachusetts Disability Rights Laws

This document provides a list of Disability Rights Laws that apply to Massachusetts as of June 1, 2015 alongside a summary of each law. It also provides links to access the most current version of each item on the list.
