- Lab Director: Jennie Pyers

  • Dr. Pyers received her undergraduate degree in art history from Smith College. She spent several years working in a psychology lab with Drs. Jill and Peter de Villiers at Smith College before entering a doctoral program in Developmental Psychology at the University of California at Berkeley where she studied with Dr. Dan Slobin and Dr. Alison Gopnik. She also spent a year as a visiting researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. Dr. Pyers completed her postdoctoral training with Dr. Karen Emmorey at the Center for Research in Language at the University of California, San Diego, the Salk Institute, and San Diego State University. She joined the Wellesley College faculty in 2006.

  • I welcome undergraduates to my lab whenever possible. Students can volunteer in the lab, complete an independent study for course credit, or work for pay. Please email me if you are interested in working in our lab during the academic year or during the summer.
