Open Access Policy at Wellesley College
Wellesley College faculty adopted an Open Access policy for scholarly communication on Feb 6, 2013. The policy states that:
Each faculty member grants to Wellesley College a nonexclusive, irrevocable, worldwide license to exercise any and all rights under copyright relating to each of his or her scholarly articles, in any medium, provided that the articles are not sold for profit, and to authorize others to do the same.
This site is related to Wellesley's Open Access Policy and is maintained by the Scholarly Communications Group.
A three year post-adoption report was delivered by Panagiotis Takis Metaxas, Faculty Director of the Scholarly Communications Group, at the April 6, 2016 meeting of Academic Council. That report can be downloaded here.
The Scholarly Communications Group
The implementation of the Open Access Policy required the College to have a formal group that acts as the resource for faculty. The Provost of the College has authorized the creation of a Scholarly Communications Group, consisting of two administrative staff from LTS and led by a faculty director who is either a member of ACLTP or someone designated by the Provost.
All questions regarding the Open Access Policy should be directed to this group. The faculty director in consultation with the other members of the group will be responsible for responding, consistent with other policies of the College.
Members of the Scholarly Communications Group:
Panagiotis Takis Metaxas, Faculty Director
Graham Henderson, Collections Management Librarian and Copyright Officer, LTS
Jenifer Bartle, Digital Library Services Librarian, LTS
