Study Abroad Through Wellesley’s Many Programs
A study abroad program in France offering challenging courses, an authentic encounter with French culture, and optimum conditions for achieving real fluency in French.
Vassar College, Wellesley College, and Wesleyan University offer a study abroad program at the University of Bologna in Italy. The program is committed to the highest academic standards and to providing opportunities for students to develop their knowledge of Italian language and culture in one of the oldest and most prestigious academic environments in Europe.
Wellesley College and Smith College have joined forces to provide a unique opportunity for study abroad at the University of Córdoba in Spain. PRESHCO provides opportunities for students to develop their knowledge of Spanish language, literature, and culture in one of the most picturesque and historically rich cities of Spain.
Students have the option of studying in Santiago or Valparaiso. They enroll directly in the University and attend classes taught in Spanish with students from Chile while living in a host family. Administered by Middlebury.
Wellesley College and the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva have established a program for Wellesley students to earn both a BA from Wellesley and an MA from the Graduate Institute in 5 years. Commencing in Fall 2016, Wellesley College students may also do a stand-alone semester abroad.
Wellesley's Fall Semester program at University of Akureyri in Northern Iceland. Study a variety of subjects with courses taught in English, live in a vibrant & fun college town, and experience the stunning beauty of Iceland - including the Northern Lights! Program also includes a week at Skalanes Research Station in East Iceland.
Spend a semester or year at one of our reciprocal exchange partner schools. These programs are a great option for students who seek an independent experience and wish to become deeply involved in a host institution.

Wellesley's Ted Wang Fellowship encourages Wellesley College students considering a career in Asia to gain advanced language skills in an East Asian language and knowledge of the richness of East Asian culture. During the spring semester of their junior year, fellows undertake a rigorous semester of study at one of our partner institutions in China, Korea, or Japan and complete a networking project during their time abroad.
Wellesley students may apply to spend one or two semesters at another US college or university through the Twelve College Exchange, our exchange with Spelman College or as through a Visiting Student Program. Priority admission is offered to students from Twelve College member institutions at the National Theater Institute and Williams Mystic Coastal & Ocean Studies program.
