Free Plants from the Botanic Gardens Brighten First-Year Students’ Dorm Rooms

The Botanic Gardens tradition of giving away plants to first-years isn’t just a way to welcome them to campus and perk up their barren dorm rooms. It also helps them discover campus pathways to the greenhouse and other Wellesley destinations and make connections with other Wellesley students and alumnae.

Some plants at the giveaway are even passed down from Wellesley Bigs to their Littles, continuing this move-in tradition through generations of Wellesley students.
