The Friends of the Library have created a $100,000 spendable fund to encourage investment in innovative ideas associated with student learning and faculty scholarship. Library and Technology Services (LTS) is now seeking proposals to work with faculty and staff in finding creative ways to use this fund for both technology-supported and non-technological projects.
This fund offers us a predictable source of funding for experimentation and inquiry during a time of constrained resources. It will allow the College to keep abreast of new developments and to make better, more informed choices about future investments in library and technology resources and services. It is flexible and could be used to provide support for the equipment, software, information resources and/or services that support reading and scholarship. Faculty and staff may submit proposals for the use of the fund at any time during the five years in which the funds are available (FY11-FY15); if the funds are depleted before FY15, LTS will inform the community.
Submit a brief description of your preliminary idea: <http://bit.ly/paJWXn>.
You’ll be contacted by a member of LTS serving on the fund's advisory committee to discuss your potential project, to see how it fits the goals of the fund, and, if it does, to help add more details.
