New York and Uruguay-based artist Marco Maggi uses a range of unexpected, everyday items to create drawings, sculptures, and interventions in space. Through humor and metaphor, his works refer to dense histories and coded forms of information without resorting to direct reference. Meticulously crafted, Maggi's artwork rewards slow and close examination by the viewer, something he considers an integral part of his practice. He has exhibited extensively in the US and internationally, in galleries and museums. He represented Uruguay in the 2015 Venice Bienniale.
