Todd Nordgren

Director of LGBTQ+ Programs & Service

Todd G. Nordgren (any pronouns) joined as the director of LGBTQ+ Programs and Services in 2023. In his role, Dr. Nordgren develops educational, social, and supportive programming to support LGBTQ+ students at Wellesley, while also providing opportunities for the whole campus to learn about queer and trans identities and histories. He also partners closely with faculty and staff on campus to create a campus environment that celebrates our queer and trans community, and consults on related campus-wide initiatives related to LGBTQ experiences.

Dr. Nordgren came to Wellesley from Dickinson College, where he was the director of the LGBTQ Campus Center and adjunct faculty in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Previously, he had held the role of Visiting Assistant Professor in the departments of English, Comparative Literature, and Gender & Sexuality Studies at Northwestern University, where he had earned his Ph.D. in English Literature in 2018. His scholarly interests inform his investment in learning from the past and engaging with queer and trans media as a way to create community.

Prior to grad school, Dr. Nordgren was the field director for United Council of University of Wisconsin Students, a nonprofit organization that advocated with and on behalf of students across the UW system. At United Council, he coordinated grassroots campaigns focused on voter registration, increased financial aid for students, and support for members of minority communities on campus.

In his spare time, Dr. Nordgren enjoys reading novels (especially speculative fiction), going for hikes, and exploring Boston.
