Patricia Birch
Assistant Dean for Intercultural Education, Director of Harambee House, and Advisor for Students of African DescentPatty Birch (she/her) is the Assistant Dean for Intercultural Education, Director of Harambee House, and Advisor for Students of African Descent who joined Wellesley College in Spring 2021. Patty comes to us with 10+ years of experience in student affairs, academic advising, social work, career, and diversity education. She defines herself as people-oriented, a self-starter, and dedicated to the service of others. She was the Director of Inclusive Excellence Initiatives at Framingham State College, where she worked to enhance the experience of underrepresented students through programming and leadership initiatives.
Prior to Framingham State, she worked in a variety of departments at Boston College including the School of Social Work and Residential Life. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Assumption College, a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Higher Education at Azusa Pacific University.
All three of Patty’s degrees are from three different states—California, Michigan, and Massachusetts.
