Alumnae and Families Enjoy a Wellesley Tradition
President H. Kim Bottomly addressed parents and students during the traditional planting of the class tree by the sophomore class. (And blogged about the weekend too.) The Class of 2015 planted a dogwood, using the same shovel as more than 90 past classes, near Hay Amphitheatre.
That was just one tradition taking place at Wellesley as it welcomed the 474 families registered for Family & Friends and Homecoming over the past weekend.
Other highlights of the weekend were sporting events, debates, and lectures. Wellesley's debate team squared off in an event moderated by NPR correspondent Linda Wertheimer '65.
The Parent College featured lectures from six Pinanski Prize faculty members: Steve Marini, Maggie Keane, Tom Hodge, Emily Buchholz, Alex Diesl, and Koichi Hagimoto.
The Guild of Carillonneurs Open Tower, Crew Alumnae Contest, and Choir Concert rounded out the events of the weekend.
