Wellesley's 14 varsity sports stay busy throughout the year, as do the Wellesley Blue superfans!
Winter 2011-12 Season Wrap Up
Basketball
The basketball team finished the regular season 12-11 overall. Wellesley qualified for the NEWMAC tournament as the #4 seed, hosting a home playoff game for the first time in 10 seasons. The team defeated Springfield in the quarterfinals, but fell in the semifinals to nationally ranked Babson (who won the final). Malia Maier ‘13 and Leslie Leong ‘14 were named All-Conference.
Fencing
The fencing team finished its dual meet season with a record of 11-10 and sent seven fencers to the NCAA Regional Tournament on March 11. Carla The ‘15 led the way for the Blue, ending the day in 21st place in her first NCAA event. Captains Dania Wright ‘14 and senior Zsofia Schweger placed 32nd and 33rd respectively, both personal best NCAA finishes. The Blue won its home invitational and built on that success to finish 8th overall at the New England Championships.
Squash
The squash team ended its regular season with an 11-13 overall record, with a runner-up finish at the Seven Sisters Championship. The Blue qualified for the CSA “C” Division Championships for the first time in four seasons, finishing the season with a win over Connecticut College and a #23 national ranking. Rosemary O’Connor ‘14 was the lone representative to compete in the CSA Individual Championship on March 2-3.
Swimming & Diving
The swimming and diving team took home its 15th-straight Seven Sisters title and capped an outstanding year with a third-place finish at the NEWMAC Championships. A NEWMAC title from Keelin Nave ‘14 in the 200-fly highlighted the action at the event. Nave and diver Hayley Goydan ‘14 represented Wellesley at the NCAA Championships, with Nave placing 12th in the 200-fly, while Goydan placed 10th on the 1-meter board and 11th on the 3-meter board. Nave earned honorable mention All-America honors for her finish, while Goydan’s scores also earned All-America honors in both boards.
Track & Field
The indoor track and field team raced strong all winter led by ECAC and New England Qualifiers Molly Shanley ‘12, Leah Clement ‘12, and Camille Basurto ‘13. Despite not racing much of the season, Randelle Boots ‘13 qualified for the NCAA Championships in the mile where she finished as an All-American for the sixth time in her career.

Golf
The golf team will hit the links in mid April to begin its season.
Lacrosse
The lacrosse team is 3-5 overall, but 1-0 in NEWMAC play with a win over Mount Holyoke. Claire Canty ’15 leads the team in scoring with 26 goals and 11 assists.
Rowing
The crew team has raced twice this spring, including a win over Washington College and a strong showing against Bates, Trinity, Holy Cross, Rochester, and WPI at Lake Quinsigamond. The Blue sport a #3 national ranking and have a full season ahead.
Softball
The softball team is 7-9 overall, with a 3-1 mark in NEWMAC play. The team faced tough competition on their spring trip to Florida, but topped two nationally ranked opponents in their final games. Lauren Goldfarb ’13 ranks first on the team with a .453 batting average and 10 RBI.
Tennis
The tennis team sports an 11-2 record and hosted the Nor’Easter Bowl on Easter weekend. Eight teams competed at Wellesley, with six of the eight sporting national rankings. The team is ranked #18 in the country and is gearing up for NCAA play in May.
Track & Field
The outdoor track and field team opened the season at Tufts, with Leah Clement ’12 winning the 800-meter event.
