Congratulations to the Wellesley Class of 2024!
This year, Wellesley received 6,627 first-year applications, the second-highest total and the largest number of regular decision applicants in College history. On March 21, 19 percent of the applicants were offered admission.
Here’s a look at the admitted class of 2024:
They hail from 1,023 high schools in 49 states plus the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico, as well as 50 countries outside the United States.
Fifty-seven percent are domestic students of color, identifying as African-American, Asian-American, Latina or Hispanic, Native American, or multiracial.
Nineteen percent will be the first generation in their families to attend a four-year college.
Twelve percent are international citizens.
Their average SAT score is 1445, and their average ACT score is 32.
Of the students attending high schools that rank, 88 percent are ranked in the top 10 percent of their graduating classes.
Admitted students include those who applied to Wellesley via the College’s valuable partners, QuestBridge and the Posse Foundation, and those who worked with local, community-based organizations that support students in applying to college.
“We recognize that these are challenging times for students and the community at large, so the Office of Admission feels very fortunate to share good news with so many talented high school students,” said Joy St. John, dean of admission and financial aid. “Although we won’t be able to host admitted students on campus this spring, we are looking forward to engaging them virtually. We have already recruited many current students, faculty, and alums who are eager to share more details about the Wellesley community online and by email and phone.”
Welcome, Wellesley College class of 2024. We’re excited to meet you!
