Wellesley Students Celebrate End of Academic Year with 120th Annual Stepsinging

Since the dedication of Houghton Chapel in 1899, student have gathered on its steps on the last day of classes to celebrate the end of the academic year with singing, class spirit, and Wellesley pride. This year’s May 10 Stepsinging was moved inside due to weather. Students dressed in their class colors—purple, green, red, or yellow—to cheer and sing their hearts out, using favorites from the Wellesley Song Book.
