Wellesley Students Participate in Alternative Spring Break Trips to D.C. and North Carolina

Twenty-three Wellesley students are spending their spring breaks participating in alternative break service trips to either Washington, D.C., or West Jefferson, N.C.

Students in Washington are working with a variety of community partners where they are exploring issues of sustainable housing and helping to provide basic necessities to Washington’s homeless population.

In North Carolina, along Appalachia’s Blue Ridge, student volunteers are getting their hands dirty in organic gardens, learning the tenets of permaculture and sustainability, taking care of farm animals, and more at Woodland Harvest Mountain Farm.
