At the Edge of the Green Landscape, the Butler Boathouse Beckons #WellesleyPlaces
Amid a sea of green shrubbery, Butler Boathouse floats atop Lake Waban, a center for community recreational activities like canoeing, sailing, rowing, sunset yoga, and more during the school year. Thanks to the generosity of Alice Lehmann Butler ’53 and her husband, John, the boathouse, used by Wellesley’s Department of Physical Education, Recreation, and Athletics, underwent a comprehensive renovation in 2015. The boathouse doesn’t have open recreation hours in the summer, but during the school year it is available to all Wellesley College students, faculty, staff, and alumnae with a Wellesley ID. It’s never too early to start scheduling the next outing on Lake Waban!
Please direct questions about the boathouse to Marni Friedman, associate director for facilities and operations 781.283.2002 or mfriedm8@wellesley.edu.
