“WellNESSt” Festival Prompts Students to Learn about Healthy Lifestyle Habits
More than 100 students gathered in Tishman Commons Wednesday afternoon to play self-care bingo, learn about healthy eating and sleeping habits, and partake in a chocolate fondue station as part of the Valentine’s Day “WellNESSt” Festival.
The event was organized by the Balance Health Educators (BHEs), a student group affiliated with Health Services, as part of the group’s effort to educate students about healthy lifestyle choices, according to BHE vice president Brenda Nguyen ’19. For Valentine’s Day, the BHEs promoted self-care and “self-love” through activities focused on nutrition, exercise, sleep, and stress resilience (or NESSt). Other offerings included therapy dogs, reiki, massage therapy, free flu shots, and raffle prizes.
