Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and U.S. Representative Joe Kennedy Chat with Students on Campus
On a beautiful if blustery fall day this week, Wellesley College President H. Kim Bottomly greeted Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Deval Patrick and United States Congressional Representative Joseph P. Kennedy III [D.-4th district] on the Academic Quad.
The group chatted briefly before the politicians made their way to the Knapp Atrium for the Social Sciences in Pendleton East to meet and talk with students in a get-out-the-vote visit.
President Bottomly introduced the speakers. Kennedy, who addressed the students first, thanked her, adding, “Madam president, always a pleasure – always a pleasure to say that as well.”
Patrick and Kennedy have both visited the College in recent years, but Kennedy said he was last "by" this spring, when he ran past campus as a participant in the 2014 Boston Marathon, calling Wellesley's Scream Tunnel "a sight to behold."
Wellesley loves talking politics at all times, but especially during election season. Election day is Tuesday, November 4, 2014.
