The Wellesley 100—a Continually Evolving Interactive Feature—Has Arrived Online
The Wellesley College Admission Office is excited to launch a digital version of The Wellesley 100, which is 100 marvelous things about Wellesley, set within a magical interactive online world!
“To stay in the forefront of today’s dynamic period of digital convergence, we’ve created this ‘interactive digital narrative’ using today’s most adaptable and progressive responsive design,” explains Jane Kyricos Widiger, director of admission communications and publications. “Viewers can access this new site seamlessly through their smartphones, tablets, or computers; the design is customized and optimized for each of these platforms. The new Wellesley 100 microsite will enable us to reach a broader population of high school students all over the world; it will provide the opportunity to further highlight our ever-popular videos; and it will allow us to add new content to keep the site timely.”
The site is a creative adaptation of the award-winning Wellesley 100 viewbook for prospective students. How to describe it? In its own words:
The Wellesley 100: The first 100 marvelous things about Wellesley that we could think of off the top of our head (really! Just about!), including, but not limited to, the faculty (#01), the playing fields (#66), funded internships (#12), and women who wrap bikes in hot pink tape (#19), juggle flaming torches (#96), and permanently alter, for the better, the way the world works (#56, et al.).
Says Jennifer C. Desjarlais, dean of admission and financial aid, “Using the new Wellesley 100 site as the portal to this burgeoning digital narrative world is exciting. We hope prospective students will enjoy perusing the many marvelous things about Wellesley as they begin their college search process, and we hope they will return frequently for more information.”
Wellesley partnered with Brooklyn United and Generation on this project. Both firms are located in Brooklyn, N.Y.
