Davis Museum Lobby
Free and open to the public

Although known for his work in a diverse array of creative processes, such as film and photography, György Kepes’s work also includes oil on canvas, including Abstract Composition, housed in the Davis’s collection. Join us for an afternoon symposium on Kepes’s work that coincides with the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Center for Advanced Visual Studies at MIT, featuring a Skype presentation with Márton Orosz, curator of the collection of photography and media arts at the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest and acting director of the Vasarely Museum; Joanna Fink, director, Alpha Gallery; and Theresa Carmichael, arts conservator and owner of Carmichael Art Conservation. Reception to follow.

The fall 2018 Davis Discoveries program is presented with generous support from the Wellesley College Friends of Art at the Davis.
