Psychology major
From a young age, I have loved art-- specifically related to fashion design, photography, and cinematography. As a child my weekends were always spent either on a sewing project or in making stop-motion animation films for my youtube channel. In college, I have pursued a Psychology major and will be attending medical school this coming fall, but art holds a special place in my heart. Sewing and creating images are activities that relax me and allow me to flex my creative muscle, and I plan to continue these throughout my life. Wellesley's Art Department has allowed me to explore both of these mediums in depth and I am very grateful for the opportunity!

Jewett Hallway Galleries
In crafting my final project for ARTS 308 (Advanced Photography), I knew I wanted to combine my interests of creating images and sewing clothing. in addition, I was motivated to create a piece related to my favorite parts of Wellesley College to create a keepsake of my time spent here. Upon seeing the process for the first time this semester, the beautiful blue hue of cyanotype photographs instantly reminded me of fabric patterns used in fashion-- thus, I decided to create a dress using cyanotype-printed fabric. The images on the skirt of the dress are all pictures of Wellesley and Wellesley students from the archives, printed as digital negatives and transferred onto the fabric by means of cyanotype. My aim in creating this piece was both to provide a wearable piece of photographic art and showcase the beauty in my Wellesley experience, and I hope you enjoy looking through the photographs!
