In my free time, I love being active and doing hands-on projects. I knew as a first-year that I wanted to eventually take a studio art class. During my junior spring, I started taking classes in the Art Department and absolutely fell in love with making things. On campus, I can be found looking at plants or running. After graduation, I hope to find a workspace where I can continue making art.

Baby papaya in a cradle
plaster, wood, acrylic paint
2022
Jewett Hallway Galleries
This piece makes me feel happy and comforted, and I hope other people feel the same way. I spent a decent amount of time making the plaster papaya. As such, I see the papaya as my child. The cradle is meant to support the papaya. The basket on top was very planned, but the legs were placed wherever needed to keep the structure stable. I think a parallel can be made with life: you have a big goal but the small steps along the way sometimes need to be improvised.

Menstruation Crustacean Station
found objects, wood, plaster, acrylic paint
2022
PNW 1st floor studios bathroom
This idea came from a meme that I saw online. I hope that it makes people laugh a little, feel curious, and appreciate what their bodies are doing to keep them alive.
Signage installed with the piece informs visitors to the bathroom that the menstrual products in the sculpture are free to take.
