Wellesley Students Spend Wintersession Building in New Orleans
A group of 17 Wellesley College students from the 2012, 2014, and 2015 classes traveled to New Orleans the week of January 15, 2012, to build a house with Habitat for Humanity.
The group was led by Melissa Hawkins, Erin Sullivan, and Kristy Liu, staff members of the Wellesley College Center for Work and Service (CWS).
Since the devastation by Hurricane Katrina in August 2005, the CWS has led trips to New Orleans six of the last seven Wintersessions.
The Wellesley group connected with area Wellesley College alumnae while in New Orleans. Photos are of scenes from the 2012 construction project.
