The exhibition, Making, Not Taking: Portrait Photography in the 19th Century, is available in three parts on Google Arts & Culture. Created by Dr. Carrie Cushman, Linda Wyatt Gruber ’66 Curatorial Fellow in Photography, this exhibition elucidates the craft of nineteenth-century portraiture by presenting the materials of early photography alongside an exploration of the space, experience, and products of the portrait studio.
