Eligibility & Application Guidelines

Eligibility
All ages, sexual orientations, and racial/ethnic/national/religious identities among female-identified artists are encouraged to apply.

 

Applicants must:

  • Live in the Greater Boston area (all towns east of Interstate 495).
  • Identify as female (including cis women, trans women, and femme/feminine-identifying gender queer folks).
  • Work in the media of painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, photography, film, video, and/or media arts
  • Be at any career stage beyond the first five years of professional practice.

Past awardees are not eligible. 

 

Application Materials
Required Attachments:

  1. Artist’s Statement (1 page)
  2. Brief Responses (1 page) to the following two questions:
    • What is your current studio set-up? Please describe.
    • How would you use the funds should you receive the award? 
  3. Digital images of 15 current works (jpgs under 5MB each)
    • For 3-D works, you may also include up to 10 additional detail shots (jpgs under 5MB each).
    • Video/Media - Attach a document with URL links to the video(s) on Vimeo or YouTube. 
  4. Checklist of images - Submit a separate page with numbered information identifying each image (ie. 1. title, year of creation, medium, and dimensions). Include the file name of each image in the checklist. For video files submit a Vimeo or YouTube URL with description.
  5. Resume/Curriculum Vitae  

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • All documents should be submitted in either PDF or Word .doc format.
  • All images should be .jpgs that are 5MB or smaller.
  • All file names should follow these formats:
    • Last Name_First Name_Document Name
    • Last Name_First Name_Image Number_Image Name
  • DUE by 11:59PM on Sunday, June 2, 2024
