At Home and Abroad Anne Whitney in Rome
March 7 - June 3, 2012
This selection of materials from the Davis collections and the Wellesley College Archives focuses on the American sculptor Anne Whitney (1821-1915) and her life in Rome during the late 19th century. Organized by Jacqueline Marie Musacchio, Associate Professor, and Martha McNamara, Director of the New England Arts & Architecture Program, the presentation complements the Wellesley/Deerfield Symposium, At Home and Abroad: New England Women, Travel, and the Shaping of Artistic Expression, 1840-1910.
