Hebert (he/they) has been working in the field of Education for over 15 years. Specializing in education access, equity, and equality, he worked at Berklee's City Music Program, the access point to the college for talented low-income, first-generation students. He developed transitional models for students experiencing the cultural shock of engaging in an elite, highly competitive, and challenging environment. More recently, at Project Launch, Raw Art Works' career and college exploration program. Hebert identified four critical literacies that students developed while making visual art. These were identity, self-advocacy, social agency, and critical dialogue. He then augmented the curriculum so students could leverage these literacies to design their path to a college or career. As an immigrant, low-income, and first-generation student, Hebert’s career has not been on a straight track. Before finding his vocation in Education, Hebert had experience working in the international finance industry, was an entrepreneur, and was a performing artist. Hebert holds a BBA in Management from the University of Massachusetts and an M.Ed. in Critical Pedagogy from Lesley University. He believes in the capacity for self-development and achievement through introspective search, self-awareness, and kindness to one's self.
