Stephen Hamilton: A Day in Residency (Campus Only)Tuesday, October 21, 2025 - 10:00am to 2:30pmJoin Boston-based artist, arts educator, and scholar Stephen Hamilton for a day in residency at Wellesley. A Black American trained in traditional West African artforms, Hamilton will share his multidisciplinary practice with students, faculty, and staff through an arts workshop, artist’s talk, and informal conversations.
Hamilton’s artwork is on view now in the Boston Public Art Triennial and at the Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University.

Using materials such as walnuts and goldenrod from the Botanic Gardens, participants will explore our relationship with nature. By focusing on natural dyes and Yoruba spirituality, Stephen Hamilton will invite students to learn from his unique art-making process. To reserve a spot, please sign up here.
