As CEO of Hong Kong Seibu Enterprise, Sarah Young O'Donnell oversees the Seibu department store business in Hong Kong as well as the development, launch, and roll-out of new cosmetics mega-stores, including Beauty Bazaar By Harvey Nichols, in Hong Kong/China.
Prior to 2008, O'Donnell served as chief operating officer of Hong Kong Seibu, and before joining Seibu she was senior manager in charge of regional business development for the Dickson Group and deputy general manager for Warner Brothers Studio Stores in Hong Kong and Singapore.
Upon arriving in Hong Kong in the early 1990s, O'Donnell worked for the Lane Crawford Group, as senior buyer of women's fashion as well as senior buyer of gifts and home. O'Donnell started her career in retail in the mid-80s at Bloomingdale's in New York, where, upon successful completion of the Bloomingdale's Executive Training Program, she worked in various merchandising and store management roles.
She holds a B.A. in political science from Wellesley College as well as an A.S. degree in design from the Parsons School of Design. She also attended the master's program in the history of art and architecture at Tufts University and was a teaching fellow of fine arts at Harvard University. O'Donnell is a member of the Wellesley Business Leadership Council, the Young Presidents Organization, and the Zonta Club of Hong Kong, and she serves on the Parent Advisory Group of Hong Kong International School and the Pound Lane Concern Group. She is married and has three children, ages 16, 14, and 9.
