Yali Hou joined Bain & Company in Shanghai in 2005 after earning her M.B.A. Since then she has been working in Shanghai, Beijing, and Hong Kong offices in different capacities. Ms. Hou is currently director of HR and Consulting Operations for Greater China practice. In her role, Hou leads the design and implementation of key HR and operations initiatives to support both long-term and short-term objectives of the business, with specific challenges of a fast growing geography with three offices across two economic/demographic jurisdictions.

Before taking on the leadership role in HR and Operations, Hou was a consultant and a consulting manager serving client works which covered a wide range of industries with a focus on industrial goods and services, consumer products, and government/nonprofit organizations. Her expertise includes corporate/business unit growth strategy, sales and distribution optimization, change management, and operational improvement.

Prior to business school, Hou was a senior financial analyst with INTEL China Ltd in Beijing.
