Sumin Heo ’25
She is writing her thesis on the attitudes surrounding AI usage in creative content production, specifically looking at its impact on the K-Pop industry as a case study. During the summer of 2024, Sumin worked at the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) Lab at Wellesley College under the supervision of Professor Orit Shaer, where she researched the impacts of AI on creative ideation in remote meetings specifically in AR/VR environments. She also worked as a legislative advocacy intern at Citizens for Juvenile Justice, researching the extensive history of Massachusetts’ juvenile justice system and the implementation of the Juvenile Justice Reform Act of 2018. Sumin spent her fall semester of her junior year studying Human, Social, and Political Sciences (HSPS) at University of Cambridge, focusing on the intersections of sociology and criminology. On campus, Sumin is the president of the Korean Students Association (KSA) and is a DJ for the Wellesley radio station WZLY. Sumin’s goal upon graduation is to work in the legal field, looking at intellectual property laws surrounding creative material.
