Initiatives

The Albright Institute convenes a number of initiatives including our Faculty Affiliates program, Albright Institute managed internships for Wellesley students, and The Anchor Point Fellowship.

Faculty Affiliates

The Madeleine Korbel Albright Institute for Global Affairs (MKAI) aims to stimulate cross disciplinary engagement with global affairs at Wellesley and beyond. To that end, we are excited to  launch a two-year pilot (AY 2024-25 and AY 2025-26) Albright Faculty Affiliates program designed  to provide a platform for Wellesley faculty across all disciplines to connect, build community, and  collaborate with other faculty and students toward advancing high-quality research that addresses  global challenges. In partnership with the Wagner Centers for Wellesley in the World, the Albright Faculty Affiliates program will foster an inclusive and productive environment, bridging the gap  between scientific inquiry and societal impact. Over the course of the two pilot years, we will be  evaluating the features of the program and adjusting them in consultation with the Albright Faculty Advisory Committee and the Provost’s Office as needed to benefit the faculty, students, the Institute, and the College.

Anchor Point Fellowships in Global Leadership

The Anchor Point Fellowships in Global Leadership were established through the generosity of Amy Batchelor ‘88 and Brad Feld. The Fellowship supports Wellesley College students to undertake 10-week summer internships that foster their connections to the global community and encourage their global leadership skills. The Fellowship supports students from a variety of academic backgrounds interning in a variety of fields. Internship sites are intended to enable students to encounter the creative dynamism and humanity existing throughout the world -- primarily outside of the United States. Is a professional network. Fellows, who have completed internships, meet semi-annually to reconnect and to explore topics of global importance.
