In the summer of 2019 she interned with Ascend schools, a non-profit in NYC, where she utilized data analytics to ensure smooth operations within the network and investigate the educational disparities between diverse communities in NYC. Shruti spent the fall semester of her junior year studying colonial effects on South Asian culture, identity, and international relations at SOAS University, London. On campus, Shruti loves to sing with the Blue Notes and is co-Vice President of the Bangladeshi Students Association, co-social chair of Al-Muslimat, and co-culture chair of Wellesley’s Association for South Asian Cultures. She is a native speaker of Bangla and Sylheti, and has a working knowledge of Hindi, Urdu, French, and Korean. In the future, Shruti hopes to combine her interests in neuroscience and global health by working as an international disaster relief physician and provide support to underserved communities.
