Thanks to CWS’s Global Engagement program, she pursued her interest in cultural institutions at the Museo de Arte de Ponce in Puerto Rico during the summer of 2015. She is particularly interested in how cultural institutions act as sites of public diplomacy, and spent her sophomore year researching the Asia Society, a global cultural institution headquartered in New York City, to investigate how they conduct public diplomacy to map the world. On campus, she is the President of the a cappella ensemble, the Wellesley Widows, and works as a research assistant in the Sociology department. In the future, Rebecca hopes to intern at an arts organization that engages underrepresented and excluded audiences from cultural institutions and promotes the reevaluation of the Euro-American canon.
