She is writing her thesis on the impact of caste discrimination and/or bias on student’s test scores in an Indian state. Maya spent the spring of her junior year abroad in Buenos Aires, Barcelona, and Cape Town, where she studied different factors that impact the development of cities and a resident’s experiences in them. On campus, Maya serves as a head lifeguard, working to coordinate and lead the training of the campus lifeguards, and part of the Taiwanese Cultural Organization. Upon graduation, Maya would love to work at an international organization researching development policy.
