She is interested in adapting healthcare systems to be more culturally sensitive, and in the development of accessible educational resources in maternal and infant health. In the summer of 2017, Mackenzie worked with the Fogarty Institute for Innovation, a medical device incubator in Mountain View, California, where she worked for Materna Medical, a women’s health start up that is working to reduce vaginal tearing in childbirth. Spring and Summer of 2016, Mackenzie lived in Doha, Qatar, where she worked as a Trauma Room Technician for Hamad General Hospital, and as a Labor Room Technician for Al Wakra Hospital. On campus, Mackenzie is a Sexual Health Educator, Social Chair of Alpha Kappa Chi Society, an Officer for MIT EMS, and works in the Athletic Training Room of the KSC. Mackenzie’s goal upon graduation is to pursue a medical degree, and a masters in public health.
