In the summer of 2023, she worked at the “Reimagining Rural” project in the Brookings Institution, where she performed research and data analysis on federal rural development programs. Lucia spent July through December 2022 in Santiago de Chile, where, in addition to her studies at the Spanish-immersive Universidad Alberto Hurtado, she interned at the Museum of Memory and Human Rights. On campus, she works as a research assistant for Professor Rutherford, where she compiles and codes data regarding trends in translated literature. She also plays trombone in Wellesley BlueJazz and holds Eboard positions on the Committee for Political Engagement and the Student Interdisciplinary Data Initiative. Upon graduation, she hopes to work in a research or advocacy organization on topics related to international development and economic equity, preferably in Latin America, before going to graduate school.
