This summer, she interned at the Entwicklungspolitisches Netzwerk Sachsen and Stiftung Frauenkirche Dresden in Germany, where she refined her German language skills and gained crucial insight into political development work outside of the United States and the important role of foundations like the Frauenkirche in promoting peace and reconciliation. In addition to her studies, Katie works at the Keohane Sports Center, as a student assistant in the German Department, and as a German tutor for the Pforzheimer Learning and Teaching Center. Upon graduation, Katie hopes to spend another summer working at an international organization in a German-speaking country before returning to the United States to pursue postgraduate work in education or law.
