Over the summer of 2024, Kamila worked with the Institute for Math and Democracy to research political polarization in the United States. The work used topological data analysis techniques to better understand where seemingly disparate political parties have common values and can work to build coalitions. Kamila volunteers as an emergency medical technician and has volunteered at a non-profit community farm to better understand the effects of healthcare structures and food insecurity in her community. She has a professional working proficiency of French, and limited working proficiency of Mandarin and Arabic. On campus, she is part of the honor code council, the nordic ski team, and is a math assistant with the mathematics department. She looks forward to using data and biostatistics to improve population health in marginalized communities.
