She is currently studying abroad at King’s College London. In the summer of 2019, she researched the feasibility of gene therapy on X-SCID patients using patient-derived cell-line samples at Boston Children’s Hospital. In January 2019, she volunteered at her high school in Nigeria and observed how classes were taught and taught grade 10-12 chemistry for a week. At Wellesley, Ify is an active member of Awaken the Dawn, works at the Art Library, has served as the Treasurer for Wellesley African Students Association (WASA) and as the Africa Representative for Slater. Ify is very passionate about reforming the educational system in Africa, particularly in Nigeria, as well as improving the healthcare system in Nigeria. She hopes to become a professor at a Nigerian university, and eventually the Minister of Education in Nigeria.
