She spent the summer of 2019 at Plimoth Plantation in Plymouth, MA researching Wampanoag history and designing exhibits as the Native American Education and Interpretation intern. In 2018, she served as a field operations intern on U.S. Representative Sharice Davids’ primary campaign. On campus, she rides for the Wellesley Equestrian team, plays clarinet in the Wellesley BlueJazz big band, and is a member of the History Student Advisory Committee. She also studies Spanish and Portuguese. In the future, Emily plans to continue collaborating with Dr. Rae Wynn-Grant, evolutionary biologist with National Geographic, to analyze Indigenous communities’ relationships with black bears through a culturally appropriate lens and to advocate for accurate representation of Indigenous people.
