Bijon Anderson
Bijon is a junior from Rochester, Pennsylvania, double majoring in Africana Studies and Education, and participates in the Wellesley Teacher Scholars program to obtain state teacher licensure in secondary education history.

In fall 2021, during her first semester, she was a member of the inaugural cohort for the Global Scholars Program in Athens, Greece. There, she attended the College Years in Athens program. On campus, Bijon works as a cultural inclusion facilitator for the Office of Intercultural Education, facilitating virtual and in-person cross-cultural dialogue across campus. She is also a teaching assistant at the Wellesley Children’s Community Center, and in addition, she works as a residential assistant for Tower Court. In the spring, she will be studying abroad in South Africa at the University of Cape Town, studying feminist movements in South Africa. After graduation, she plans to attend graduate school for Africana studies. Her future goals are to combine both majors to help create a curriculum for black history to be taught in K–12 schools.
