Anna Beyette ’21

Anna Beyette
Anna is a junior majoring in Environmental Studies and Peace & Justice Studies with a concentration on Gendered Experiences of Conflict.

In the summer of 2019 Anna worked as a Democracy Fellow through the Foundation for Civic Leadership with Democracy, Maine where she engaged with the local community to lobby for election reform in the city of Portland, Maine. During the fall semester of her junior year Anna studied in Byron Bay, Australia where she conducted research on the influence of colonizer guilt on non-Aboriginal Australians’ ability to connect with sense of place and participate in environmentalism. On campus Anna works for the Peace and Justice Studies Program creating a bi-annual newsletter for current majors and alums of the program and does martial arts with the Wellesley Wushu team. She also participates in environmental action by sitting on the E2040 Trustee Committee to develop a comprehensive plan for Wellesley College to reach carbon neutrality and carbon-emission elimination. She speaks conversational Spanish. Anna’s goal upon graduation is to work internationally on creating and expanding gender equity as a tool to combat climate degradation.
