During the summer of 2018, Abeer worked as an intern for Aga Khan Education Services in Khorog, Tajikistan, where she created and implemented a curriculum for students learning English as a third and fourth language. On campus, Abeer is a coordinator for the First Generation Network, a member of Wellesley's Literary Society Zeta Alpha, a Historian for the Pakistani Students Association, and a member of Residential Life. She speaks English and Urdu. Abeer is passionate about education policy as well as domestic violence prevention in South Asian communities. Upon graduation, Abeer hopes to combine these interests and pursue a career in policy-making to ensure immigrant voices are heard in different education systems.
