Before joining the Chronicle, Fredrick worked as a senior editor at CNN Digital, where she led political coverage and commentary on both domestic and international news stories. While at CNN, she also worked on the Emmy-nominated documentary project exploring the backstory of Nazi Adolf Eichmann’s infamous trial.
Before coming to CNN, Fredrick worked as an editor at the African Network of Centres for Investigative Reporting, where she coordinated over 20 African investigative journalists in their reporting of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Panama Papers – a project which exposed the illicit world of offshoring. In addition, she helped launch the Center for Collaborative Investigative Journalism, a nonprofit newsroom which trains and funds young journalists who investigate allegations of public and private sector corruption across Africa and Europe.
Fredrick earned degrees in political science and cinema & media studies from Wellesley College. She also spent a year studying African and Middle Eastern politics at Oxford University.
