Most recently, she was Executive Director of Global Policy at the United Nations Foundation, where she led initiatives to tackle big global challenges, including helping to create and deliver the Sustainable Development Goals and Financing for Development. Previously, she was strategic planning and policy advisor to UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan and was a visiting lecturer at Princeton. She is currently focused on strengthening American democracy and developing innovative approaches to sustainable development.
Minh-Thu serves on the Advisory Council of the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, where she also received her MPA. She is a fellow of the Truman National Security Project, was a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and was a 92Y Women in Power Fellow. She received a BA in History from Duke University, came to the U.S. as a refugee from Vietnam, and currently lives in New York City with her husband and two daughters.
